The Medieval Rose Festival is a historic revival of the Middle Ages when the Order of the Knights of St. John ruled the island of Rhodes (AD1309-1522) and is held every year in the Medieval City but always in a different area.

It is a cross-cultural event including street theater, juggling, live medieval music, historical dances, storytelling, puppetry, games, art workshops, exhibitions, symposiums and many other happenings inspired of local history and legends. It appeals to children and grown ups, to Greeks and foreign visitors. At the festival one can find the medieval pothouse with drinks and delicacies of the time, as well as a small traditional bazaar.

All the events are hosted in the unique medieval setting of Rhodes (World Heritage Site - UNESCO 1988)and all the participants are dressed in medieval costumes. A Real Journey in Time!

Medieval Festival of Rhodes is an initiation of the "Medieval Rose" Association and is co-organized with the Cultural Department of Dodecanese of the Periphery of South Aegean and the Municipal Cultural Organization of Rhodes. Entrance is free to the public.

Access is easy as just outside the Medieval Town there is a taxi station. In a walking distance is the port and the bus station to the airport and to other areas and villages of Rhodes.
